Recycling your Zenith CO2 canisters

We offer two types of CO2 canisters: a smaller, 1.2kg (2.2L) for residential models, and a larger 2.6kg (4.0L) for commercial purposes. Our CO2 canisters enable our drinking water systems to dispense sparkling water, promoting ‘refill culture’ which is estimated to eliminate millions of plastic bottles every year. Commercial canisters are refillable, which is great for the planet and your environmental credentials, too!

At Zenith Water our sustainability credentials have always been high on our priority list, which is why we have developed our smaller residential CO2 canisters (part number 91295NZ) to be recyclable.

Recycling not only helps to conserve natural resources, but it also saves energy and reduces emissions. Recycling metals means less need for mining of new materials, which in turn helps to protect valuable ecosystems and wildlife.

Our smaller canisters are designed for single use to allow all customers, including those who live in areas where refilling services are not available have access to a CO2 solution.

However, if you do live in an area where CO2 refilling services are available you can upgrade to our larger refillable canister. Simply order the larger regulator (part number 93256NZ) and a new 2.6kg canister (part number 93310NZ) and change it yourself. Alternatively, you can book in a Zenith Water service technician to come to your home and change it for you.

Got a few empties?

• Wellington region, please take old gas bottles to Silverstream landfill transfer station. There's a drop off point for these as you enter the transfer station.

When it comes to getting rid of your used CO2 canisters responsibly, it's important to note that these items cannot be disposed of in garbage trucks or landfill due to safety risks.
