The filter also contains a naturally occurring antimicrobial that is used to prevent bacteria growth inside the filter.

Zenith MicroPurity filters sizes 1 and 1.5 (93701 & 93702) are tested and certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 (Aesthetic Effects), 53 (Health Effects) and 401 (Emerging Compounds/Incidental Contaminants).
